About the Coffee
About the Farm
Near the top of the Baru Volcano in the District of Boquete, the coffee tradition of Laura E. Suarez’ parents was born. Vidal Suarez and Eira Gutierrez de Suarez eagerly worked on and cultivated the land with their own hands at their first coffee plantation known as La Camiseta. When the farm caught up to full speed and production was running in full, Laura’s parents started buying neighbouring properties and other properties offered to them in the surrounding areas within Boquete. Soon enough they became one of the 5 major producers of high quality coffee in the area. This particular coffee comes from the La Camiseta Estate, where also Typica, Catuai, Catuai Amarillo and the famous Panama Geisha are grown.
Three siblings, Vidal, Carlos and Laura, inherited the estate from their parents. Laura established an NGO called Manos Abiertas, which raises money to purchase medical equipment for the maternity and infant care hospital in Chiriqui. The family also uses earnings from the sale of coffee to provide bonuses for employees, school scholarships, death benefits, and medical brigades in the indigenous communities.
Complex multi-faceted brew
This special coffee from Panama has got some intricate and delicious notes. Expect a creamy cashew body with rich Jamaican rum & mango notes all-over - bringing a lil boozy and funky note along. As it cools, you’ll discover cranberries with juniper berry undertones.
