Zwart Wit Koffie
ZWART WIT
Located only blocks away from the city buzz of Eindhoven, you’ll find a cozy cafe called Zwart Wit koffie. This neighborhood vibe-café covers all your needs from morning to early night. Wooden walls and a communal table add charm to the interior with an industrial looking ceiling.
The idea of Zwart Wit Koffie was born in Melbourne and they passed in bringing back that laid back vibe from Australia all the way to the Victoriapark in Eindhoven. They also happen to serve coffee that is roasted by an Australian coffee geek ;-).
The ever-smiling friendly staff members are real crowd pullers and it can get busy right after opening. Customers are greeted from the bar straight away after entering the café. The Barista’s serve the morning crowd with all manners of coffees and tasty brekky’s. They know how to steam their milk to create silky cappu’s and flatty’s with a base of an espresso with smooth chocolate and nutty notes yet a bright strawberry acidity. They also like to surprise you with a rotating second grinder coffee which they pick themselves in the roastery a mere bike trip away from them. Here they monitor receipes of all espresso shots to ensure each cup is consistent and able to give the person who is about to take their first sip of coffee of the day, to enjoy it to the fullest.
As the afternoon passes by, the first beers will be served and bottle of wines will be uncorked. But don’t worry, the La Marzocco Strada EP will be flowing out shots of espresso all day.
I won’t pretend to speak for the coffee-consuming people from Eindhoven as a whole, but in my experience Zwart Wit Koffie is smashing it on both coffee, food and hospitality.
