Samen By Livingstone

A crowd favorite in Amersfoort: Livingstone Coffee. Wee hours in the morning begin with regular customers ordering a coffee through the coffee window. Housed in an old and historic building, Livingstone is located on the Groenmarkt. Guests can pick a cosy spot upstairs or can sit down on one of the comfy old airplane-seats overlooking the Barista working behind the La Marzocco. It’s almost like you enter a family or friends gathering with the interior that brings out a homely vibe and the customers chatting to eachother.

Two years after owner Daniel took over Livingstone, he opened up his second place only meters away from his first shop: Samen By Livingstone. Together with his loyal base of regular customers who became friends, he was able to make this happen. With more space than his first shop, he is now able to serve delicious lunch as well as specialty coffee.

As you enter Samen, you are greeted by the ever smiling friendly staff.  The Barista is pretty much dancing behind the machine while slingering latte-art. Your eye gets drawn to the colourfull painting of an unique SCA Coffeewheel on the wall. It’s a hand-painting by one of Daniels customers and represents the combination of flavour in both the tasty lunch as the specialty coffee he serves.

The coffee they serve on their first grinder changes from time to time, as they embrace the fact that coffee is a product produced by nature. Together with his Barista’s. Daniel picks a coffee that not only they love, but also suits their customers preferences. They also have changing filter coffee offers and a line-up of super specialty spro’s as they call it.  

The community building aspect of Daniel’s two shops, create a feeling of warm welcome. I bet you will feel like a friend too next time you stop in for a coffee or a bite.
