Stoom013
It took owners Lukas Willem Fikken and Bob Caarels 10 month’s to renovate the dilapidated train unit, but it resulted in a buzzing coffeebar and hang out spot located in Tilburg’s so-called Spoorzone. The location definitely comes with some challenges as one day we were at STOOM013 to train our friends when the power went off multiple times. Made it a bit hard to keep the shots slinging lol. It’s also not a place where you randomly run into (Also a reason POST NL got lost a couple of times with their coffee order), but once you find it you won’t forget it.
The shop is runned by a small group of creative individuals who are always in for a laugh. Next to their nutty and choccy Brazillian Sprout spro, they serve a rotating batch brew to thrill your senses.
When the sun is out, it’s impossible to resist hanging out at their outdoor space where you can meet friends or read a book.
They never sit still, as they organise vegan three course dinners in collaboration with In de volksmond (a local plant-based kitchen) next to their regular coffee hours.
Enjoying a coffee at Stoom013 is as much about the coffee and the people as the experience of a café in an old train wagon.
